How to Make a Jean Phil AI Video (Step by Step)
Turn one photo into a Jean Phil AI video: pick a scene, add a clear photo, get a vertical MP4 up to 28 seconds long and post it on TikTok or Reels. Tips included.
A Jean Phil AI video puts your face on Jean Phil — the blonde bowl-cut, the curled moustache, the houndstooth suit — in one of his scenes. Here is how to make one in a few minutes, and how to get a result that still looks like you.
What you need
- One clear photo of your face. A normal phone selfie is fine.
- Credits. You pay per second of video: 20 credits a second in 480p or 40 in 720p. The price is always shown on the Generate button before you start.
- 3–10 minutes while the video is generated.
Step 1: Pick a scene
Open the generator and choose a scene. There are eight, each a different Jean Phil setting: Night Selfie, Oyster Bar, Street Dance, Café Terrace, Park Flowers, Living Room, Apartment Shadowboxing, or Bathtub. Not sure which to pick? Read the Jean Phil scenes guide.
Step 2: Add a clear photo
Upload one photo with:
- one face, looking at the camera;
- even light — no strong shadows across the face;
- nothing covering the face — no sunglasses, hats or hands.
Group photos confuse the AI, so crop to one person. Only use a photo of yourself or of someone who agreed to be in the video.
Step 3: Choose length, look and quality, then generate
Drag the end of the filmstrip to set the length (from 4 seconds up to the full scene), pick your bowl-cut colour, moustache and suit, then 480p for a cheaper video or 720p for a sharper one. Tick the photo-permission box and press Generate. If you are not signed in yet, you will be asked to sign in and then brought straight back — your photo and scene are kept.
The video usually takes 3–10 minutes, longer for long videos. You can leave the page; it will be waiting in My Videos. If a video fails, every credit for it comes back automatically.
Step 4: Download and post
You get a 9:16 MP4 with the original clip's sound, plus a silent copy — the format TikTok and Instagram Reels expect.
- Download the version with sound, or the silent one.
- Upload it to TikTok or Reels.
- If the platform mutes the music, post the silent copy and add a sound inside the app — trending sounds are licensed by the platform.
- Label the video as AI-generated where the platform asks.
Tips for a better Jean Phil video
- Front-facing beats artistic. A plain, straight-on selfie gives a more recognisable result than a dramatic angle.
- Glasses are fine. Your usual glasses and hairline carry over.
- Match the scene to the joke. The Bathtub and the Living Room work best with a deadpan caption; the Night Selfie works with a loud trending sound.
- Results vary. AI video is not perfect — check the face and hands before posting, and try another photo if it does not look like you.
